Studio
Sketching, modelling, and finding out by making.
Biography
Daniel Palla explores furniture, lighting and spatial objects through movement, material and construction. With a foundation in industrial design, his practice moves between sketching, digital modelling and hands-on experimentation. A recurring interest is the object with more than one state: something that adjusts, opens or changes its relationship with the person using it.
Principles
Movement with purpose.
An object moves because the movement changes what it can do, not to demonstrate a mechanism.
Materials with a reason.
Materials are chosen for physical behaviour, tactile quality, manufacturing possibility and consequence.
Character through construction.
How something is built should be visible in how it looks and how it feels to use.
Studio
